About the Opportunity

Currently, Xerxes has multiple openings for full time Assemblers to join our team in the Tipton, Iowa plant.
As an Assembler, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating machines and equipment or using hand tools to cut, shape, splice and fit plastic materials to form parts and assemblies;
- Following blueprints and drawings to join shell halves together using a hand lay-up process;
- Installing fittings, gauge plates, manways and other components and accessories;
- Cutting and preparing composite materials from patterns to join parts and assemblies;
- Using equipment including grinders, trimmers, measuring tools and rollers;
- Periodically inspecting work to ensure compliance with quality standards;
- Documenting information on process sheets and time cards in an accurate and timely manner; and
- Maintaining a neat and tidy work area.
To qualify for this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma (highly preferred);
- Your own steel-toed safety boots; and
- To be a physically fit individual.
In addition, it will put you a step ahead of the rest if you have previous experience working with fibreglass; however, Xerxes welcomes entry-level applicants and will provide on-the-job training. It is also important that you are comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces when required, as well as in a plant environment.
Since you will be working as part of a team, you will need excellent communication skills with a thorough understanding of the English language including verbal, written, and reading skills. This role would be well suited to individuals with excellent problem-solving abilities and a high attention to detail.
Successful candidates must have the flexibility to work variable hours including shift work.
